At QGate we’re a 100% remote, close-knit team predominantly located in the south of England. By focusing on talent, rather than geography, we’re able to find the best people who match our culture and business needs.
We’re a small (but mighty) company, punching above our weight, in terms of our clients and the skills we can offer. As such, we ensure everyone in the company is seen, heard and supported as people and professionals.
We’re not the kind of outfit to make you feel bad for having a doctor’s appointment or because you need to pick your child up from school.
We believe in getting naked with our clients. We’re vulnerable with our clients by practising absolute candour to confront clients (kindly) with difficult information, even if the client might not want to hear it. We also admit our weaknesses and willingly admit our mistakes. By being vulnerable we can build a long-lasting and trusting relationship with our clients.
We take this approach with our colleagues too. By being open and honest (although not to the point of rudeness) we can work in an environment where saying ‘I don’t know’ isn’t a punishable offence, but rather an opportunity to learn. This allows us to do our best work benefitting the clients and our business.
Our priority is hiring for culture first. It’s just as important that anyone joining QGate contributes to the team, as much as to the business. Skills can be taught, but being a good person is just something you are. Nothing destroys a culture and a company faster than a bad fit, which is why it’s always our priority.
With everything explained above in mind, our hiring process is pretty straightforward.
First stage interview – This is predominantly focused on getting to know you to make sure you’re a good fit for the team you’re joining and the wider business. We’ll also go over your employment history and allow you to learn about us and, just as important, we’re a good fit for you.
Second stage interview – Assuming we like each other, the second stage interview is much more competency-based. We’ll be digging deeper into your experience and how that relates to the role.
There will also be an opportunity for you to learn about QGate, our plans for the future and how your role fits into our grand designs.
Third stage interview – On those rare occasions when we can’t decide between two or more candidates, we’ll ask you all to deliver a short presentation. We think it’s much fairer than just tossing a coin.
If you’d like to join QGate, check out our open roles below and apply. If you can’t see anything that you think you’d be a good fit for, send us your CV with a brief cover letter to info@qgate.co.uk, we’re always keen to meet talented people.
